Weekly Roundup: Quite A Week For The Royals, Major Revelation, A Flying Visit, But Silly Games Bring Sorrow
Week ending 10th/11th February 2024
Phew! Well, that was some week, for sure (and certainly a good one for any UK politicians wanting to bury bad news, with neither Sunak nor Starmer coming out of things at all well this week). The Royal soap opera continued with the shock news of Charles’s cancer diagnosis, Harry’s “mercy flight” (sure, Haz) and some serious “Bye, Felicia!” shade. (They’re getting v good at this, the Royals.) Meanwhile, there are major questions about Harry, positions of responsibility and the dark and corrupt things that have been going on with his Africa charity
So not much else in the readings, I’m afraid, although not to be outdone in the attention stakes, Vlad Putin’s decision to do a TV interview with Tucker Carlson was… interesting, to say the least. Questions abound, meanwhile, over Joe Biden and the state of his memory while Kamala tries to grin and bear it. Meanwhile, in less gossipy news, the horror still continues in Gaza, with no sign of let up. No wonder some of us seem to need distractions.
I’m afraid I’ve not had time this week to do more on the Vera Sibilla and playing cards, but expect more on that next week. Meanwhile, a reminder of some of the spreads used in this week’s readings. Do take a look at the instructions if you like to practice with your own cards, and try them out for yourself!
This Week’s Readings
This Week: Gossip & Surprises, Good News Coming To Those Who Wait, But Game-Playing Brings Sorrow & Regret
This week’s cards suggest that we’re going to see more gossip and complaining/bitching about a particular woman this week, so lots of negative chatter, negative gossip. There could be a big surprise reveal around an “angry” woman, someone who is deemed to be acting kind of crazy or irrational. Alas, negatively, it seems a military war or battle will continue to drag out so perhaps the gossip story just becomes a welcome distraction to more serious and heavy things, but we’ll see.
Another surprise, the spread suggests, is to do with something faced by a particular couple, nominally a dark haired woman and man, and hint that this couple consists of a lady of leisure and a smart, if slightly sneaky man, who will turn out to be at something of a crossroads or turning point together.
A lesson to learn from it all this week, we’re told, is that good news comes to those who wait. A slightly finger-wagging finale, however, whether directed to us, the public, or those involved. According to these cards, having too many trivial, superficial thoughts and playing silly games will lead only to sorrow and tantrums. Be warned!
I’m not sure we got to see any great revelations about “a literal angry woman,” did we, although it could be symbolic of cancer, and THAT revelation was certainly a shock. I can imagine who the chatter would be about if a more literal “angry woman” is being referred to here. It’s true that battles and wars continued as before, at all levels, actually. And who is at a turning point? Again, it could be who we expect, although I wouldn’t call Haz “a smart young man”. This could be the final straw though. It’s pretty obvious there is no hope of return. I do think “good news coming to those who wait”, especially with the Sibylle des Salons “Sweet” card, so something quite light, is that sense of schadenfreude as the ‘shade’ kicked in, amusing many. “Play around and see what you get” (and yes, I know there’s a less polite way of putting this), as in the last three cards, seems a pretty accurate description of this week’s events.
So how did the rest of my readings fare?
Let’s take a look.
