Looking at a sample reading and what the playing card references can bring to it
Now we’ve taken a good look at both the playing card suits and the playing card number references, it’s time to put it all together and see how it might influence an actual reading.

We’re going to use the following 16-card spread as an example. I first did it using the Gypsy Oracle cards (which don’t have any playing card references) as one of my Royal Daily Oracle news prediction posts, but let’s study it in its Vera Sibilla format to see what, if anything, they can add. Here’s the spread.
The Cards
Soldier, Young Woman, Enemy, Frivolity (R); Surprise, Room, Doctor, Pleasure Seekers; Conversation, Malady (R), Sighs, Hope; Wife, Wedding, Service (R), Widower.
But this post is less about those card meanings themselves than what we can glean just from the playing card references. So below, let’s incorporate all we’ve learned about playing cards to see what it adds to the reading.
