Tuesday: Senior Protective Figure Rewarded In The Past Now Trapped By Sense Of Lack, Yearning For Future Gifts That May Never Come
Tuesday 13th June 2023
For today’s very quick reading we’re using the Sibylle des Salons, and a layout suggested by Grimaud called Le Conseil de Penelope to look at different facets of a situation.
For more on this lovely 19th Century French Sibilla deck, including card meanings and reversals for all 52 cards, as well as guidance and layouts, you can check out the deets here:
Today’s cards fell as follows, with the Protector figure at the centre. Although you don’t have to do this, on this occasion, just as with the Kipper, I am following the direction he is facing. The cards behind him are the past, those ahead, the future, the card above, his conscious thoughts, below, that of which is he is unaware.
The Cards
Journey, Success, Protector, Waiting, Presents, Absence, Trap
The Reading
The kindly senior protective or governmental figure we see in this reading is someone who has up until now been on a journey to success (Journey, Success) and is likely to have been rewarded with a senior role and his achievements recognised in some way.
However, he is now missing something or someone, is feeling very empty, and highly conscious of a lack in his life (Absence). He is unaware, it seems, that he is locked into the trap we see in the card below him, one that is possibly of his own making (Trap).
He continues, therefore, to anticipate or yearn for further rewards and ‘gifts’ to come to him in the future (Waiting, Presents) and may not realise his time and rewards have been and gone.
