Thursday: Titan Inquiry, A Lookback at Previous Oracle Card Readings & Oceangate's CEO
Thursday 19th Sept 2024
Away from politics for now, and instead we’re looking at another case of institutional (or in this instance, institutional plus massive personal) failures in the wake of the current inquiry into what happened to the Titan submersible. Frankly, although unsurprising, it has still been extremely revealing, especially regarding what can go wrong when someone’s giant ego overrides safety regulations that are there for very good reason.
As a reminder, I did a number of readings last year during the week the sub first went missing (June 2023) and then when it was discovered what had happened. Still shocking to see the way that some experienced, senior employees who raised safety concerns were treated, and we heard testimony this week from one who ended up being sued for whistleblowing and daring to raise safety issues.
Anyway, this is what I said back then, and the relevant readings. So I guess “documentation and communications”, is indeed what’s being gone through now.
Tragedy, Hubris & Sadness. “What Is Lost, Gone Forever.” (June 2023)
Much of the news this week was on the widely reported (too widely reported, some have complained) loss of the submersible Titan en route to the wreck of Titanic, along with the pilot/ CEO, two experienced adventurers, and two civilian tourists aboard, a father and his 19 year old son. So sorry, this’ll be a bit of a long one today, as I found myself very drawn to the background of the story and actually pretty angry about the circumstances. Perhaps the Angry Woman is me!
The loss, after a catastrophic underwater implosion, was the first loss of a similar submersible ever, in decades of deep sea dives, and I think in the end the lasting story here will not only be the follies of the very wealthy, but more that of the appalling disregard for safety, and sheer arrogance involved. An entirely preventable rather than “random” disaster, but for what seems to be the almost sociopathically irresponsible hubris of the CEO himself, who claimed “innovation” was behind his obvious safety-defying corner-cutting, while he took umbrage at standard safety protocols and angrily rebutted the concerns of fellow industry experts who told him his approach would eventually lead to disaster.
Sadly, this self-anointed “maverick” will indeed, I feel, eventually be remembered, as he wished, for the “rules he chose to break”. And the people whose lives were lost alongside his own, as a direct result of those poor choices, just as was the case with the Titanic herself 100 years before. In fairness, it was never Titanic’s structure itself that was at fault, but specifically human failings. With Titan, one appears to have directly caused the other.
My gut feeling all along has been that there was very odd and unhealthy psychology going on with the late company CEO here, that perhaps he had been getting away with for far too long. I’m unclear, though, why two highly seasoned adventurers would have been happy to join him, given all the red flags raised by others. Very strange indeed.
Lost Ships, Battles Of Natural Forces, Navigation, Weather, Erosion Problems & Communication
The overall picture today is of a vessel, where there is guidance concerning life support, and a navigation system affected by natural forces, while underneath, it has been eroded or is poor quality, and there’s a fight against loss. The vessel is obscured or hidden, it is a moving “home”, and there is a passion or love, likely the Titanic “fandom”, associated with it. Help is on its way, but there’ll be a lot of effort and struggle to assist. The navigation equipment seems have come up against natural forces, been battered, and the vehicle is rather depreciated or diminished inside. There’ll a struggle to make it, and the damage may have been caused by internal friction. Previous enthusiasm and passion for it appears to have papered over the “cracks” in the vehicle which is now masked or disguised in some way. Ahead, support services are being guided and trying to navigate to it but it will be a struggle to find.
With regard to communications, the connection link has been muddled or obscured, most likely by the weather, with a sudden cut-off. There seems to be written communication of some kind that is important, perhaps documentation or a map, as well as written choices and options. Change is indicated, so there may have been a change in plan, perhaps connected with the route or map used, so something to do with navigation. There’s been interference and misinformation about conditions, bringing a very sudden change in circumstances, a sudden cutting off. Ahead, gloomy choices arise, with no easy answer or route to take. A connection may be made, but is cut off by stormy conditions.
These two readings came as the search began in earnest for the missing sub, with it still being believed, in the press at least, that there was a possibility of recovery and rescue. In the light of what turned out to have happened, they were both fairly accurate, I’d say. I’m still a little confused by the Tree and Heart in this one, however; the Lenormand Tree does involve energies and life force in general, as well as sometimes, karma, and the Heart is passions, so… Certainly the Mask and its sinister two-faced overtones seemed very appropriate here, with the masking of a depreciated hull (Mice, House, Whip), not to mention the superficial, over positive marketing, a ‘veneer’ of positivity, passion and success. The nautical aspects of the Compass headed, in misdirection, for disaster, the Titanic “fandom”, the underlying failings and weaknesses of the capsule structure.
This focused on documentation and communications (Letter, Birds), which I think in retrospect is going to be key in resolving what actually went on here, certainly from a legal perspective, as more and more is coming out all the time. I’d assumed maps and plans, but letters, signed waivers, and emails are playing a huge part in the story. Overcast, clouded choices (and yes, the ‘staircase’ imagery of the Crossroads being reminiscent of that in Titanic herself is a little creepy, as is the rather explosive looking Star above the Scythe, for accidents, not to mention the Bridges, showing crossings but also looking a little, well, wreck-like, the Clouds, for debris fields). Yikes. On this day news of change was indeed reported (claims of banging sounds which turned out to be unrelated), but neither ‘option’ turned out to be any good. That it was most likely to be a sudden accident appears to have been indicated in the reading (Scythe, Storks, Rider)
Expert Thought, Sickness, & "Female" Energies Regarding Commercial Trip In Search Of Treasure
Experts and analysis in the news currently regarding the missing vessel (Titan) and its plight, and a sense of unease and unhealthiness overall. Three aspects of both the ocean and vessels concerned, as “Servant or Maid”, as Foe, and as Sweetheart, all driven by the wealthy and the commercial seeking of the “surprise” retrieval of treasures. The negative forces of the ocean bringing loss and disaster around treasure and wealth. Expert analysis suggests a disaster waiting to happen. She may be retrieved, but the odds and negativity surrounding this venture suggest that it may be too late for her.
The triple female energy here was curious; I put it down to vessels always being personified as female, as is the sea. But I think this was a pretty accurate reading regarding the disaster (Misfortune) and its unhealthy, and wealthy origins. Again note the uncanniness of the imagery in the very Titanic-like Gift card, and the presence of water for the Merchant and Surprise. The female Foe energy appears to link particularly to what looks like the retrieval of treasures for profit, the Sweetheart to the theft of treasures, the Servant to the destruction of them. Curious.
A Gamble With Thrills To Fill A Void: Rage Of A Female Force At The Journey
Something gambled or treated as a game, due to a sense of absence or a later-life need to be filled, and the desire to be anointed in some way. Thrill-seeking, but met with a fury or uncontrollable rage, something not to be played with. A flirtation with thrills and playing with death, and delayed or latent rage from a female figure at it being treated as a game. A recent coming together of gamblers who were ‘anointed’ or successful, but overshadowed by death, and a trip that was also seen as a game, a gamble, and opposed by a female force outraged and vengeful at this journey of those who were successfully chosen.
Here, we were back to Titan again, and again, that angry female energy coming out, and sadly, and uncannily, accurate on the circumstances of the loss, I felt, which had just been confirmed at this time. Gambling, risk-taking, toying with death due to an inner ‘void’ of some kind (again, I’m wondering about sociopathy in the case of one in particular on board), and paying the price of pent-up “female” (aka the sea’s) rage at the journey.
So by means of an update, let’s see what the cards have to say about the late CEO, Stockton Rush, whose failings do indeed appear to be at the heart of this disaster.
Here’s the spread for today. We’re back with the Vera Sibilla and a traditional way of both drawing the cards and reading them, which involves counting. I’ll be writing about this particular method and spread separately, but just know that to read the cards this time, I won’t just be reading them in a chain one after another, but instead by counting in sevens, as per the traditional method.
The Cards
Lord, Despair, Merchant, Love (R), Child, Friend, Fidelity, Sighs, Cheerfulness, Frivolity, Lover (R), Prison, Enemy
So what do these cards tell us about him? Anything we don’t already know?
The Reading
Counting in 7s as per the traditional method, we get the following about CEO Stockton Rush:
A senior man (Lord) who demanded loyalty at all costs (Fidelity) or he would become an Enemy. Friendship and alliance meant getting trapped and limited (Friend, Prison) and new projects (Child) involved someone supposedly passionate but lazy and dissolute, or just a bit useless (Lover R). A passion or love gone awry, or the negative side of it (Love R) led to frivolity, gameplaying, superficiality (Frivolity). Moneymaking (Merchant) brought celebration and happiness (Cheerfulness) but also Despair. There was a yearning there of some kind, an unfulfilled hope (Sighs) for this man (Lord).
The Lord, the main man, became an Enemy. There’s Despair over the entrapment, over being trapped with him (Prison), and the desire to make money (Merchant) made him a poor and dissolute partner (Lover R). Warped passion (Love R) brought Frivolity, superficiality, and although a new project (Child) meant celebrations (Cheerfulness), there was a yearning there for support (Friend, Sighs), or those around him found him exasperating.
A demand for fidelity, for absolute loyalty, was vital with this man, it seems (Dog) and was key to his whole persona.
Multiples wise, here we have three nines, two tens, two Jacks, two Kings.
Three nines represents karma, receiving what you deserve, good or bad.
Two tens: Endings & beginnings
Two Jacks: Alliances, reunions
Two Kings: Advice and support.
Reading these cards by counting in the traditional manner gives us a senior man who demanded loyalty at all costs or he would become an enemy. Friendship and support of him meant would mean getting trapped and restricted, and new projects showed he was someone supposedly passionate but lazy and dissolute, fairly useless in practice. A passion or love gone awry, or the negative side of it led to frivolity, gameplaying, superficiality. His moneymaking brought celebration and happiness for some but despair for others. There was a yearning there of some kind, an unfulfilled hope for this man.
And so he became an enemy. There was despair over the entrapment, over being stuck with him, while his desire to make money made him a poor and dissolute partner. Warped passion brought lack of seriousness, gameplaying and superficiality, and although a new project was celebrated, there was a yearning there for support or those around him found him exasperating.
A demand for fidelity, for absolute loyalty, was vital with this man, it seems and was key to his whole persona.
Underlying energies show karma at work, a person receiving what they deserved, good or bad, along with endings & beginnings, alliances and reunions and senior men giving advice and support.
RIP to those who were killed alongside him due to his arrogance and his folly.
