Weekly Roundup: Materialism & Freebies Saga, A Failure In Protection, Secret Payments Yet To Be Revealed, & Someone Delves Into Childhood
Week ending 28th & 29th September 2024
Well, a few things going on newswise this week. I’ve studiously avoided the alarming escalations in the Middle East for now and have mostly been looking at the more general and closer to home (for us here in the UK) this week, where the Labour Party conference was on and Keir face disgruntlement from the public over his and his MP’s acceptance of freebies (clothes, free tickets etc) which has dented that particular honeymoon as for the “change party” it doesn’t seem much like a change from what the corruptions we had before. Never mind, Sir Keir and his Very Expensive New Specs set straight off afterwards for the States to go and buddy up to… Trump. So that will have been interesting.
Readings-wise, we finally got to explore the different counting methods you can use with the cards. “Counting” is a big feature in most of the 19th century traditional card-reading systems, in both laying and reading, although you see it particularly in France. If you missed that one, do catch up on it here:
Meanwhile, in the readings this week, spreads included the Gossip Spread, and the Inquiry Layout, and we were back using the Russian Gypsy Oracle Cards, the Traditional Wahrsage Kipperkarten by Hildegard Leiding, the Sibilla della Zingara/Gypsy Oracle Cards, Ciro Marchetti’s Gilded Reverie Lenormand and the Sibilla Indovina.
Just as a matter of interest, it would be great to know which decks my readers actually own themselves and use the most. Do fill in the poll below and let me know!
Anyway, below are the reading summaries for the week just gone. How did the cards do? Let’s find out!
This Week: Greed & Material Interests, & Don't Be Fooled By Attractive Appearance. Justice Will Come, Eventual Prosperity
Earthly pleasures may be in the news this week, so someone prosperous, perhaps with their nose in the trough? An outward appearance may turn heads, but it may not be all it’s cracked up to be. There appears to be a recovery health-wise for one individual, and there’s a strong bonding between two parties, with love or shared passions welding them together. Someone will be enjoying pleasant company and having a good time, and will be fulfilling their desires and gaining opportunities. Karma-wise, good will eventually outweigh evil, with those doing bad brought to justice.
There’s positive oversight and “guidance” this week, with a wished-for happiness awaiting. Someone will eventually gain all they desire. And even though there may be an unpleasant event or encounter in the news, this should be able to be turned around. A lack of courage may hinder progress in some areas but eventual prosperity and flourishment are indicated.
Hmm, I think I have an idea of what some of this is about… Nose in the trough certainly sounds like the Freebiegate scandal which has been rumbling on this week, and we covered that more on Tuesday. As I said in the original post there is it as bad as Boris and the ghastly wallpaper and all the rest of the freebies generally accepted there? In terms of cost, probably no. And yes, many politicians of all parties do it. In terms of ethics and PR, however, when you have previously set yourself up publicly as morally far above your political opponents with regard to precisely this issue, to then need to be told that if you do it too, it will play extremely badly with the public, beggars belief. Especially when you’re telling some of them they won’t be able to heat their homes this winter and you were supposed to be the big change.
What of the other issues mentioned here? Well, Kate did make another public appearance, so that could be the “health recovery” story, and it was Hazza’s 40th birthday, although the Palace is denying Boris Johnson’s claim that he was asked to give him a manly pep talk to prevent him leaving the country back in 2020. Meanwhile, I’m highly doubting the “strong bonding” is likely to be Keir and Don, but who knows? Stranger things have happened… The Al-Fayed story carried on, meanwhile, with the expectation that there will be more women affected and coming to light. And certainly, P Diddy appears to be seeing justice at last, and I do get the impression that right now, wrongdoings of most kinds are likely to be floating to the surface whoever may be the culprit, so anyone with anything to hide is probably going to need to watch out. But who is going to gain what they desire? I’m not really seeing an obvious person so far.
