Week Ahead: False "Service" Or Deference From A Soldier Yearning For Retribution & Money Expected That Never Comes
Week Commencing 23rd October 2023
This week, we’re starting off with a layout we’ve not used before called Three Faces Of Time. It’s a classic layout which was originally designed for Tarot, but as you can see, it’s another one that can be used with multiple decks, although you’ll get a different tone to it depending on which deck you use. We’ll be looking at it in more detail later in the week.
Today we’re going to use the Gypsy Oracle deck aka the Sibilla della Zingara, a simplified version of the Vera Sibilla. Find out about the history of that here:
The cards for this week’s news were drawn as follows:
The Cards
Waiting, Letter, Falseness, Misfortune, Reunion, Messenger (R), Priest, Soldier, Death (R), Sighs, Money, Despair, Service, Doctor, Sweetheart
If you need a reminder, you can find the card meanings index below:
Interpretation
At the centre here, we can see that there’s a Soldier figure and he’s false (Falseness), pretending in some way to serve or be of service (Service). Not someone to be trusted, so we should watch out for trusting anyone military or styling themselves as a fighter, as their ‘service’ will not be to the truth, whatever may be said. (This, it should be noted, can apply to any side of recent battles).
The recent past suggests a female Sweetheart figure, whether literal or symbolic, who was being healed or in a healing position (Doctor) and it looks as though she was serving or bowing down to a sense or claim of Despair with regard to Money, resources, or funding. Perhaps a charitable enterprise.
Now, however, there appears to be a longing or deep-seated desire for (and I’m afraid there’s no way of sugarcoating this) a violent Death, deliberate revenge. There is something literally very “avenging angel” about the reversed Death image in this deck, particularly coupled with both the Soldier, for military or fighters and the Priest, for religion, as well as someone in an advisory position, where the message may be held back (Messenger R) or perhaps won’t dawn on people until it’s too late.
Ahead, there may be meetings, gatherings or signs of reconciliation, people coming together (Reunion) unfortunately, it looks as though there may a disaster or attack (Misfortune), where there is false news or information involved (Falseness, Letter), that someone is waiting for or anticipating (Waiting).
It seems that a gathering involves yearning or desires regarding the Sweetheart figure (Reunion, Sighs, Sweetheart) but brings only violence, the avenging angel and destruction to any sense of healing or things improving (Misfortune, Death R, Doctor). Here we have our false soldier and false service, so there are lies and deceptions going on, or perhaps we’re having the wool pulled over our eyes deliberately. This brings a message or news from a priest, a senior or religious figure, about despair and desperation (Letter, Priest, Despair), and it seems there will be waiting for action or news that never arrives, and particularly money that’s expected but never shows up or arrives at its intended destination (Waiting, Messenger R, Money).
Reading around some of the cards, we can see that there’s delayed news or information about a military figure or figures and supposed “healing” while at the same time there’s a yearning for destruction. There’s a wait for a priest or religious figure who makes false promises of money and riches while violently avenging the Sweetheart figure. Those who serve the Priest bring revenge to a gathering or meeting of people.
A group of soldiers, soldiers and groups or gatherings of women, soldiers waiting for or expecting money and payment. A desire for false service or deference, and the message arriving too late. Military destruction involving the Sweetheart, which may not be a person. Destruction of a religion or the senior priest figure, along with the attitude of servitude. Avenging news or messages of despair, healing or making things better, a deliberate pretence.
Sorry, chaps, again not looking particularly positive or uplifting for the week ahead, I’m afraid.
The cards suggest we’ll see a “false soldier” figure pretending in some way to serve or be of service, and who should not be trusted. Recently, there’s been a female figure, or perhaps an idealisation of a country as one, who was supposedly healing or in a healing position. She’s been bowing down to or serving claims of despair and desperation with regard to money, resources, or funding, perhaps through charitable enterprise. Unfortunately, right now there is a longing or deep-seated desire for violent, and deliberate revenge, retribution, involving fighters and the military and religion or senior religious figures, the message of whom perhaps won’t dawn on people until it’s too late. Ahead, there may be meetings, gatherings or signs of reconciliation, people coming together, but alas, it looks as though these may be marred by disaster or attack, where there is false news or information involved, that someone is waiting for or anticipating.
There are people gathering together with yearning or desires regarding the idealised figure that brings only violence, the avenging angel and destruction to any sense of healing or things improving. Here we have our false soldier and false service, so watch out for having the wool pulled over your eyes deliberately.
