Wednesday: An Era Of Murk & Deception. What Do The Cards Suggest We Do To Recapture The Truth?
Wednesday 20th March 2024
So what’s up for today? I wanted to look a little more widely today at another issue that came up in Monday’s reading; the issue of misinformation and misdirection currently abounding in our world in general.
It’s an ongoing problem in these odd and frustrating times, whether it’s increasingly crazy online conspiracies and would-be Columbo-ing about individuals, especially those perceived as being in seats of power (KateGate being the most recent example, but there have been plenty of others at various levels, so no, this isn’t just a “Royal gossip” thing; it’s got wider implications), our not-very illustrious leaders everywhere seemingly not all that bothered about lies, truth or justice, plenty of performativity and superficiality over integrity, conspiracy theorists pontificating online against the “MSM”, not always entirely unfairly, but fuelling yet more sources of (often mis)information, plenty of tedious us-and them tribalism, and the boredom of the public with it all—which then fuels yet more conspiracy, often as a bit of fun, gossip and light relief, although as we’ve seen, this can easily get out of hand.
It does speak to an ongoing sense of dissatisfaction, powerlessness, and an overall lack of trust among the public. Unfortunately, this lack of trust also makes people ripe for deliberate misinformation also (see Putin, China, although there have been recent attempts to curb TikTok etc, which I’ll look at in more detail at some point). I’ve written previously about the crumbling of trusted institutions that we relied on so won’t cover that again for now, but it’s an ongoing situation, and it’s happening everywhere, whether for us here in the UK, the US, across Europe and elsewhere. Weird times.
So! It’s not a long reading I’m doing today, but I wanted to see if the cards could shed any light in general on what could be done about it. I’m using a slightly expanded Star Spread with the Lenormand cards. Since Lenormand cards generally work best in pairs at a minimum rather than standalone cards in positional spreads, each position has a pair of cards in it.
You can find out how to lay and read the Star Spread by clicking on the button below. It’s a good spread to use if a) there’s a problem you want to try and find solutions to and b) if you have a goal or ‘desired state’ you’d like to get to. It has a specific order to read the cards in too, and while it’s simple, I’ve found it a highly useful and often very insightful spread to use.
For this one, I’ve centred the reading first on the problem itself, deliberate deceptions and murkiness (Fox, Clouds) with the desired “outcome” already chosen - the Sun and the Key, representing revelations, truth, solutions and light.
Here’s how the cards fell. And what is worth noting is that I’ve tried this reading a couple of times and the SAME CARDS keep coming out in the exact same position. So! The cards want to tell us something, that’s for sure.
The Cards
Fox, Clouds; Sun, Key; Fish, Whip; Coffin, Clover; Ship, Book; Anchor, Child
What do the cards think we need to go through for the solution? Let’s find out!
