Tuesday: "Bad" Gurus & Malign Influencers. What Are Their Tactics & What Do We Need To Know?
Tuesday 13th August 2024
I said I wanted to take a look at issues of problem institutions, misinformation etc this week, so thought I’d start on this train of thought by looking at those who are in influential positions with a degree of power but are perhaps misusing it. Nobody specific in mind here, I should add, but am thinking generally of those with a degree of power who may be having a malign influence, particularly behind the scenes; think corrupt or somehow captured advisors, those with their own agendas, negative or malign guru and influencer types. Now, the ideal card for this, I felt, was the reversed Priest from the classic Sibilla decks, the “corrupt advisor”, and today I’m using the Priest from the Sibilla della Zingara (Gypsy Oracle cards) for the job. Find out a little more about this particular classic deck and its sister version, La Vera Sibilla, in my introduction here:
In terms of spread, for today, we’re using another classic oracle spread known as The Wheel of Fortune (not to be confused with the Tarot spread of the same name). This fairly open spread works best when it centres on a problem or concern—here, the reversed Priest— what led up to or is behind that problem, and what is likely to follow. Check out how to lay and read this one, as well as where it came from, here:
Here’s how the cards fell for today:
The Cards
Priest (R); Celebration; Haughtiness, Misfortune, Letter R, Thought, Soldier, Falseness, House; Sorrow, Frivolity, Sighs, Constancy, Love, Waiting, Gifts
