Last Year's Kipper Predictions For 2023: How Did They Do?
A Look Back At A Kipper Grand Tableau For 2023
Kipper cards generally work best for personal relationships and day to day concerns, so it was an interesting experiment to try them out in a Grand Tableau and see how they did in trying to predict bigger “global” news stories for 2023.
In my view? Not as well as some of the other decks did (Lenormand cards and Sibillas seem to do better at this generally), though they do pretty well when it’s a shorter-term current affairs read. There are probably a few adjustments I’ll make next time if I use a Kipper GT for this year upcoming news at all.
The main thing I’ll make an observation on here regarding Kipper, given it has so many people cards, is that it’s best to “charge” your people cards beforehand with who they’re likely to be! Lesson learned, for sure! And a focus more on “events” than generalising so much about people.
You can find out more about how to read Kipper Grand Tableaus in the clearest ways, with my introduction to a series of step by step Kipper GT posts, here:
Anyway, here was the 2023 layout, using the Ciro Marchetti Fin de Siecle cards which, of course, includes a few additional cards.
Essentially, at the bottom, the three cards for 2023, House, Sickness, Letter, represented what we’ve pretty much seen in lots of news stories this year; news of dysfunction all over the shop, something seriously wrong structurally, whether that’s in buildings, governments, institutions or particular families.
But what about the detail? Let’s take a closer look.
