Introduction To The Kipper Grand Tableau
Reading The Kipper Grand Tableau Introduction & Initial Steps
Now we come to the “ultimate” Kipper layout: the Kipper version of Lenormand’s Grand Tableau (or “Large Map” as it is often referred to in German aka “Big Picture” in English). And you’ll be pleased to know that pretty much all the techniques and spreads we’ve looked at and practiced with so so far will help you read it. In particular, an understanding of pairings and directionals, as well as knowing how to read the 9-Card Spread, will be particularly helpful. You can check out the info on each of those below.
What Is A Grand Tableau?
A Grand Tableau is essentially intended a “big picture” look at the life of and influences a particular querent—which is either the Main Male or Male Female in Kipper— during a specified period of time, usually a few months to a year. It is a later and slightly different version of the original Grand Tableau layout from the Lenormand system, which itself was derived from the French playing card game of piquet.
The Kipper GT is usually, unlike the original Lenormand version, a 9x4 spread, rather than an 8x4+4, that uses all 36 Kipper cards.
Here’s the example we’ll be using to go through the first steps and possibilities for reading it, which we’ll begin doing below.
The Grand Tableau is a “storytelling” reading out of which we’ll be building a narrative for a main character.
