As you’ll know if you’ve been learning the Kipper card meanings, many of the original card designs allow for directional cues to add clarity to readings. I wanted to give my readers some practice with doing this visually, so you can get used to seeing some of them “live” as it were.

It’s also a great way to help yourself get deeper into learning the Kipper card meanings! You can check all these out in detail from here:

Kipper Card Meanings

Now, obviously, not all decks will have the same directional cues (I’d follow the illustrations for whichever deck you have) and some don’t have them at all, so bear in mind, it’s not obligatory, but it does add useful info to your readings. If you’d like more info on some of the differences between the main decks you’ll see, check out my comparison here:

Kipper Decks

For these practice exercises, I’ll be using the “Original” Kipperkarten deck. Please note, I (like many readers) do not personally follow the “auspicious/inauspicious” directionals that some readers use, although you can if you wish.

Practicing Directionals

For the first eight examples I’m going to give you below, look at the illustrations and see if you can answer just the question asked. Do try this out for yourself first (you don’t need to analyse the whole reading, though you can if you wish!) and answers can all be found at the bottom of the post

A couple of easy ones to start with…
