Daily Oracle 2023: What Did I Get Right On News Stories July-Nov?
The second half of my look back at the year's stories the Daily Oracle cards got right
Following on from yesterday’s post, today we’re looking at the second half of the year for the “big” news stories the cards here got right.
One of the things I really noticed, especially as the year went on, was the phenomenon of readings with different decks and layouts ALL having similar “energies’ in a given period, and then changing to something else in another, in ways that did indeed reflect what was going on all over the place in world news. There have been some really big energies about in the last six months, that covered lots of news stories both on the macro and micro level, particularly downfalls of the powerful and in terms of familiar structures.
July: Big Downfall Energy, Putin, Macron, Collapsed Spotify Deals, BBC Newsreader Scandal
This was a BIG month for downfalls of powerful men, often highly embarrassing ones, and unsavoury secrets coming out, all of which were reflected correctly in the cards. Putin was licking his wounds after a near-coup from a former henchman and ally (and of course, we all remember what befell him later, since no good deed can remain unpunished). Macron had to deal with more riots on the streets of Paris, the near murder of a Paris mayor and his family by a mob, and got himself booed on Bastille day. Joe Biden had his son Hunter’s many legal “issues” threatening to derail his presidency, the Sussex Spotify deals collapsed in a hugely humiliating way (“Grifters”, declared the Spotify exec in charge, and talking of Putin, Harry’s apparent “idea” to interview him, Trump and the Pope on a podcast talking about their childhoods was, um, “interesting” to say the least). Finally, here in the UK, a BBC newsreader sex scandal kept everyone guessing and most were shocked by the reveal.
Here’s how the month started...
And here’s the mid-month roundup including many of those stories as they played out.
The summaries of the next few months were as follows:
