Today, rather than a week upcoming layout, we’re going to be using a particular layout that’s quite useful to use if you either think you’re being gossiped about, or, more importantly for “story’ purposes if you want to find out the score on a particular “gossip” or lowdown situation where there may be “two sides”, both with different perspectives.
I call it either the Lowdown Layout, or “What’s the Goss?” for lighter stuff, but I’ve adapted it from a layout suggested in the 2022 Grimaud Sibylle des Salons deck, where it’s given the name Tirage des cancans (the Draw Of Gossip). As with most of the layouts suggested in that edition of the deck, they only suggest one card per position, but I find you need more than that to get a really juicy or full story. For that reason, I’d use as many as three cards for each, as I have in today’s reading.
You can either pick the cards for “the initial situation” yourself, or leave them open if you’re asking about gossip about yourself.
It’s also a layout that is suitable for any deck, but particularly the Sibillas and derivatives, where you get lots of specific detail about events and people. Today, I’m using the Vera Sibilla.
For the lowdown on that deck, check here:
For today, I’m looking at THAT current scandal situation in more depth (see yesterday’s roundup).
The cards fell as follows
The Cards
Young Woman; Lord; Messenger; Haughtiness; House; Thief; Sweetheart; Pleasure Seekers; Prison; Service; Doctor; Malady; Widower; Friend; Misfortune; Love; Gifts; Sorrow
The Reading
I’ll be covering the how-tos of this layout separately, but in essence, each section refers to a different element of the story.
The Situation, Theme Or Topic: (Young Woman; Lord; Messenger). A senior man and a young woman or women and news about them
One Side’s Story or Version: (Haughtiness; House; Thief) Pride and arrogance in an institution or structure, something lost or taken. Loss of pride in an institution or brand. Structural or organisational arrogance taken or lost, someone taking that.
The Other Side’s Story or Version: (Sweetheart; Pleasure Seekers; Prison): A woman, a female love interest, pleasure seeking, the mob, entrapment. Woman trapped or cornered by a crazed pleasure seeker.
The Truth Of The Situation: (Service; Healing; Malady). A man or men serving a situation, supposedly healing but in an unhealthy way. Distorted or dysfunctional service around looking after people and healing
Actions Coming: (Widower; Friend; Misfortune) A female friend or companion and a man grieving misfortune. Disastrous grief around a friend. Regret around female friends.
Outcome: (Love; Gift; Sorrow). Romantic treasures or gifts bring only sorrow. Heartbreak in love around what glitters. Giving gifts to try to make up for causing hurt in love.
Today’s reading is on the lowdown regarding the “main man” and a young woman or women and current news coming about them and this situation. One side’s story is that it’s about pride and arrogance in an institution or structure and taking or stealing something away. The other side’s version is about a woman or women in a romantic scenario, trapped or cornered by crazed pleasure seekers or someone addictive. The truth is that there is a sense of “service” by a man or men, that’s supposedly ‘healing’ but in an unhealthy or distorted way. A dysfunctional service attitude around looking after people and healing. A man will soon be grieving a major misfortune or downfall connected with female friends, and may express regret. The overall outcome will be around romantic “gifts” or treasures, perhaps trying to make up for causing hurt, will bring sorrow. A star or glittering romance or romantic interest causing only sadness and grief.
