This week, we went back to the origins of the Lenormand Cards, with the German Game of Hope and the THREE different ways of playing the game:
The Lenormand Grand Tableau I: The Game Of Hope
Next, we moved along to the rebranding of the cards to the Lenormand name, and the original “Philippe Lenormand” Near & Far method for reading the Grand Tableau. How would a player in the 1850s interpret the same cards we saw in the Game of Hope?

Daily Updates This Week
So what was in the news this week? Well, we’ve just had news that ex Pakistan president (and cricketer) Imran Khan has been jailed for three years, the Trump court case on his attempts to overturn the 2020 election results will be heard by a tough female judge, Tanya Chutkan (who is NOT a Trump fan), Canadian PM Justin Trudeau and his wife have split, there’s ongoing fallout of the previous week’s coup in Niger and fears of greater Russian influence via the Wagner mercenary group in the region. Meanwhile, Ukraine bombed more Russian vessels and there is an international gathering in Jeddah, Saudi for peace talks, involving Ukraine and 40 of its allies.

This Week: Sad News From Afar, & An Untrustworthy Charmer In A Meeting Of Old Allies
Sad news likely this week, and someone (a public figure, a potential ally, a country) who is a hidden danger may show unexpected kindness for their own ends, perhaps in the face of a material loss or unsuccessful efforts. We are warned, however, that it is unwise to trust a new show of friendship or alliance. In domestic matters, the “right step” (whatever that may be in the circumstances) should bring success; whatever is “right” won’t necessarily be easy, of course. There appear to be meetings and gatherings on the cards, which will be enjoyed by all concerned, and reconciliations may bring displays of happiness.
Overall, the bonds and alliances between parties involved are very strong, unbreakable, and success awaits the participants. A secret will also be communicated, but we should beware: there is betrayal and treason in the air, and a sharp rebuke or attack may be made by someone involved.
Well, the “meetings and gatherings” seem to indicate the Saudi peace talks, but let’s see who can be trusted and who cannot. China is attending; perhaps there will be an attempt at a “new show of friendship” there.
Sad news? Well, most of what makes the news is ‘sad’ unfortunately; this could be anything.
Tuesday: A Message Re: The Dark Side Of Money, & Its Impact Closer To Home
The message today centres on Loss and approaches to loss, particularly with regard to financial losses that have come as a result of the dark or Enemy side of money, and moves us from looking at money and wealth to looking at those closer to home, our neighbours and family. It suggests that despite a message of hope around recent financial losses, there have been negatives in play also, perhaps ‘bad’ or unhealthy approaches to the problem. This further impacts domestic affairs, those close to home and brings what look like maladaptive relationships and disloyalty to those close to us in response to financial issues.
This was more of a generalised reading, a “warning message”, something of an admonishment about global finances, for the start of August.
Wednesday: Legal Matters For A Wealthy Older Man; Strings Pulled, Determined To Succeed
The older man has wealth, lies and string-pulling on his mind and is determined to create a good outcome for himself. There is despair behind him and there are legal proceedings immediately ahead. Not only has he used his money to lie and create grief for others, he also feels that this has been done to him by those with wealth and influence. There is a woman involved for whom things have been very difficult, but good fortune is likely to be coming her way, and there are particular men who are involved in the legal proceedings. The older man has big long term ambitions and is expecting success; he does appear to be able to create good fortune, so be warned. Even though things may look dire for him, he is thinking of what strings can be pulled and of the good fortune and luck being a wealthy man can bring
This could refer, in different ways, to any of the three main men in the news this week: Trump, of course (not only because of his court case, Judge Tania Chutkan, and the mystery of the absent Melania), but also Imran Khan and his woes, not to mention Justin Trudeau and his impending divorce.
Thursday: A Man Who Makes Out He's Protective, An Angry Woman, But Trouble Getting Away
A man who will try to present himself as an innocent protector figure is deeply lacking in love or human emotion. He will characterise his situation as one of a man escaping a crazy mad person, probably a woman or women who he claims has been meeting with and influencing others. Ahead, he comes up against an obstacle or hindrance that he’ll try to find a way around in order to escape and get away from it. He wants to escape the “angry woman” and the consequences she brings as well as the hindrance caused by her involvement with other people. “Who me?” he’ll say, but all the while, he has a deep lack and a failure to be loved.
A “difficult” woman turning up here also, in a reading with a different deck that seems very connected to the previous one. My money’s on Trump or Trudeau.
Friday: An Investigation & Search Through the Maze For The Key, Which Will Likely Lie With Man's Family & Those Close To Him
Today’s reading is about an investigation; finding answers, the key, concerning a particular man’s life experiences, looking closely at his home and his personal affairs and those of people close to him. Guidance through that is going to prove very knotty indeed and involves having to get through a maze where pretty much everything is murky or very well and likely deliberately hidden. There is a lot of mess and intricacy to get through and to pick apart in the search for the key to it all. On the surface, we have the life experiences and lifetime of this older man and his family life and his goals and ambitions. Under the surface, and perhaps secretly, there is close examination of his home life and any murk and deliberate confusion that is lurking there. This investigation in itself may be somewhat shadowy. Recently, the cards suggest, this man has himself provided a means or a bridge to closer examination. Now there are great hopes that there will be a big reveal Ahead, it looks as though there’ll be quite a knot to get through in terms of long-term and past family affairs and particularly of people close to him.
This, I’d say, is almost certainly Trump (currently he has 78 charges against him, which is quite a tangled knot indeed) with everything being examined with a fine toothcomb.Much the same energies happening for the now-jailed Imran Khan also, although on a much smaller scale, and certainly that same sense of no stone going unturned by determined investigators. Is there anything more to uncover in this tangled web? We shall see.
So that is it for the week and readings.
