Weekly Roundup: Themes Around Crowds, Trust, Enemies Perhaps Displays or Performativity & The Young, With A Female Foe & Deception Also In The Picture
Week ending 11th/12th November 2023
Very weird and unsettling times right now, where change feels in the air, so this week’s daily readings reflected that to a large extent and were trying to dig a little deeper into underlying energies of what we might be seeing around currently.
Spreads I used this week included the following two highly useful layouts. Check out the how-tos below:
Now let’s take a look at the news readings for the week and see how accurate (or not) they were. One thing I would say is that it’s noticeable how many very similar cards spontaneously came up across lots of different oracle decks and readings, and no, I mostly didn’t choose them purposely.

This Week's Themes: Surprise Love Reunion; Older Woman & Mob Behaviour; Duty, Gifts, The Law, Theft, Self Righteousness & An Enemy On The Move
The cards suggest that this week, we’ll be getting a big surprise regarding a particular love-in or romantic reunion. There’s also luck and good fortune being poured by an older or senior woman over those who are acting unwisely, drunkenly or over the top, particularly in groups. Will it fuel the behaviour or quell it? We will see where the luck falls. There’s private happiness, or joy being expressed privately or behind closed doors.
The six themes coming up this week concern the concept of service and duty, the wealthy and perhaps a particular wealthy individual, legal authority, theft & loss, rigidity or self righteousness among the young, and the movement of an enemy to crush or upturn an agreement or accord. We’re likely to see a negative approach to service, or help that is grudgingly given on the domestic front, having to knuckle down to fulfilling your duties even if you don’t want to or don’t feel like it. A wealthy man may be accused of giving gifts and benefits to his friends and associates. Ethics and morality come into play, along with authority, the law and perhaps religion and are particularly connected with couples or perhaps a specific couple, where the male partner is no longer a lover, actively dislikes the woman or women or has lost his sheen. The lawyers may be being called in or related law may be made. Meanwhile a female enemy figure is associated constantly with theft and loss. Is she being unfairly demonised, or is she herself the thief? A young person or younger people demonstrating self righteousness and hubris is highly likely now, getting locked into an arrogant approach from which they cannot escape or budge. All good news for an enemy, likely a male one this time, someone working against us, in order to break bonds and ties, or some kind of deal or accord. The enemy is on the move right now.
I’m really not sure about the supposed love-in as predicted by the “overview” part of this spread; I don’t think we have seen anything like that especially. Certainly in the UK, however, this week we’ve seen accusations of “pouring fuel on the fire” by the UK Home Secretary Suella Braverman (so a senior woman) regarding public demonstrations about the situation in Gaza, although I don’t think she’s the only one whipping people up right now from any “side”. Even being sacked may prove advantageous for her personally though and many are saying they suspect that was the intent. If you look at the layout above and read the diagonals, which I didn’t in the original, you can also see there’s “Surprise love for an older or senior woman” as well as “A reunion or coming together pouring luck and fortune over the crowd” which seems pretty accurate, as her accusations fuelled people’s determination, but then there’s also a Room card related, for privacy and home, which doesn’t quite fit, as far as I can see. A “private celebration” is in there though, so…
As for the “Themes”, they seem to be on more solid ground, grudging service (including the Opening of Parliament this week, reflected here in the opening of the carriage door by a footman figure, very much visually reflecting what happens when the monarch shows up to the ceremony here) so that seems to be Charles. Not sure about the “gifts and benefits to friends and associates”; that covers pretty much all corrupt politicians right now, it seems, and doubtless includes PM Rishi Sunak, but issues of ethics and morality, as well as somewhat performative self righteousness certainly was coming into play this week, and are likely to continue for some time as there’s much that runs quite deep here.
I explored the Enemy later in the week; the cards suggest it’s not necessarily someone of “either side” in current battles, more to do with utilising people’s genuine feelings in ways that are perhaps not as virtuous as they may seem and a need for care and alertness and warnings not to be naive. The female Foe could be a number of people; women big in the news this week include Suella, as above, and for Royal watchers there’s still Harry-Meghan stuff going on, with “alternate” poppy-wearing speeches, official openings, a court case from the sister, and predictable outrage, although most people are getting fairly bored of it all by now.
The roundup of the rest of the week’s readings is as follows:
