This Week: Wishful Thinking From An Absent Man Desperate For A Return, Reconciliation, And The Reward Of Admiration
Hopes of a reconciliation or agreement being reached after a period of absence or loss for someone and a reward gained of flattery, people saying nice things, getting a positive press or spin. The wish for the gift of reconciliation, as there is a particular man being greatly missed or missing others himself, and it’s causing great sadness and pain. Underpinning this is a person of authority or ‘the establishment’ and flattering thoughts, someone thinking about their reputation and wanting to be admired and thought well of, seen as an authority. These hopes, however, are likely to be unrealistic and a little warped, an expectation that absence and being missed will bring a reconciliation, a good press, and people saying lovely things. The man in question can only really think about what he stands to gain, the rewards.
Would reconciliation come across as a weakness, and is he thinking about this in an unrealistic manner? Would it give our man authority and standing in some way, and would it bring him back into the establishment fold? He is someone with a weakness for flattery, a desperate need for admiration, particularly from those in authority, and it appears to be be filling his thoughts, and is all he dreams of. He likes to think of the establishment as weak, but the truth is, he may be missing them far more than they are missing him.
So who was our man? Was it Harry? Was it Boris? Was it Andrew?
Well, all three have indeed been angling for great comebacks, although Harry’s is still all about demands for apologies from his family and the will-they-won’t-they of the Coronation (Meghan has been uncharacteristically and perhaps suspiciously quiet - perhaps one for me to look at in more detail next week). And as I said at the start of the week, Andrew’s attempts to ‘clear his name’ are unlikely to be a good idea for him, although he’s deluded enough to imagine that he is someone who can garner public respect, as if he ever really had it.
As for Bojo, his constant attempts at glorious return (“Hasta La Vista, Baby” was his “resignation” quote) and that have continued this week with for instance planned appearances on number one superfan and ex minister Nadine Dorries’ new talk show, but also his appearances at Davos, and “publicity” returns to Ukraine, have been hampered by what some Tory grandees and the press have been dubbing “Long Johnson” (see Weakness here, which is the Sickness card of the Sibilla Indovina). The corruption and general ‘sickness’ of his reign has been continuing to fester and cause problems for successor Sunak to clear up, not that he has been doing all that good a job of that himself. The saga this week has been around party chairman and (brief) chancellor Nadhim Zahawi and his dodgy tax affairs, again a symptom of the whole barrel from Johnson’s reign being rotten, plus another, separate issue about the new BBC chairman and whether or not Johnson secured him a loan. Meanwhile, he is the subject of not just one but two separate parliamentary inquiries later in the year. Really, the overall issue of deluded, needy, yet powerful or privileged men desperately trying to regain authority or public support is the key to the energies of this one, and frankly, there seems to be a lot of it about.
Tuesday: Discovery Of Loss & Aggression Or Violence Involving Older Person & A Deal With Supportive Officials Or Govt
A situation of loss, diminishment or theft is discovered, and may involve acts of aggression or violence from an older person or the peace disrupted suddenly, dramatically and violently. An agreement or deal with sympathetic or allied officials, but an establishment may fall or lose its standing if a deal is broken, with powers-that-be rocked by the discovery, and a challenging or tough agreement or deal needing to be pushed for or enforced.
As I said at the time, I felt this was a reference to the Half Moon gunman, a 66 year old man, the second deadly mass shooting in California in a matter of days after the one at Monterey Park, again involving older people, this one being the result of a workplace conflict. It was followed by a third mass shooting in Oakland only a few hours later.
Wednesday: An Official In High Position Looks Ahead To The Commitment He Will Make With Regard To The People
An official person out and about meeting people, looking ahead to a commitment he will make to the public and to a public role of high position. He is thinking about what the future will hold, and the people will be considering too, especially around that commitment and the honour it is meant to bring, and how he performs the role. He will be looking in particular towards ‘courting’ the people with the work he gets involved in, and knows that they are key to his high position.
This, as I said at the time, was almost certainly about Charles and his upcoming coronation in May.
Thursday: So What Of Missing Actor Julian Sands?
Joy and happiness at home or for close ones, finding home, the sounds of nature and a death or passing being talked about. A passion for mountains, walking, many routes to love, many ways around the mountain, many obstacles. Talking of love and passion, spoken love, communicating passion. Happily at. home in the mountains, an ending bringing many more paths, choices, possibilities.
Sands has unfortunately still not been found, with search and rescue services still hampered by poor conditions. His brother has told the press he has “said his goodbyes” and in his heart of hearts believes his sibling to be gone, although did point out that it would be just like him to, driven by sibling rivalry, to turn up and prove everyone wrong. Meanwhile, even after two weeks of no sign of him at all in treacherous conditions, his hiking partner still thinks there’s a possibility of his survival, as per this Independent report. All my readings about this included a Coffin card or equivalent, unfortunately, but also every one a perhaps surprisingly defiant sense of happiness, joy and a sense of home also, so the final outcome remains to be seen.
Friday: Sorrow & Regrets, Along With Hopes Of Reuniting
Sorrow, loss and regret brings hope, and wishing for a reconciliation, to meet again, to make his return.
Although this does very much tie in with the overall sense of a wish for a return and reconciliation in the first reading of the week, this one really said “Harry” to me, mainly because of the sorrow and regret side of things and the more personal family upset this is causing. Some of the press—and H&M’s former biographer Omid Scobie—appear to agree, but also that it is unlikely to happen given the dust really hasn’t settled and looks not to anytime soon.
So that’s it for this week!
Next week, we’ll be ending the month by taking a look back at some of the previous “big” readings and how they’ve been playing out. Until then, have a lovely weekend.
Maybe the man of the week is Donald Trump. Desperate for recognition, etc.? Could be... no question there is a lot of competition for that spot.
