This Week’s Readings
This week, I have to say, one of those weeks where the readings seemed more ‘general’ than specific. A bit unsatisfying, really, although there are shared themes about women in power on the move, but so it goes.
In any case, you can click on the headlines to access the full readings.
This Week: Mistakes In Trade, & Threats To A Union. Watch Out For New "Deals" & You Can't Escape The Past
A mistake will be or has been made which will be difficult to correct, and this may concern overseas business and trade. There’ll be disappointing news, and a union or bond between different parties threatens to come apart. We should remember that we cannot undo the past and it continues to have consequences, but if we’re patient, we’ll get what we want, although this will require care and careful planning. It isn’t wise, however, to trust new and untested alliances.
With regard to new alliances and deals, we’re being cunningly deceived. Nets may be thrown our way that we should be careful of, but we’ll have continuous alliances with erstwhile allies. We are due for recovery and eventually will have a good state of wellbeing. But fervour, fundamentalism, passions and extremism will lead to no good; it’s important not to listen to doubts or gaslighty whisperings trying to get us to change course.
The main news relating to international ‘deals’ this week was about Putin pulling out of the agreement to let Ukraine export grain through the Black Sea, which will negatively impact a number of drought-hit African countries in particular. So there’s our ‘overseas business and trade’, ‘disappointing news’ and a deal coming apart. Obviously, Russia is blaming the West. Unclear who any new alliances would be, however and why they would be unwise, who is deceiving us at this point. So many to choose from, sadly.
Tuesday: Young & Old Women As Messengers About The Trap Of Fandom By The Mob
Today’s reading is a very female-oriented one with three female figures; the Sweetheart, the Young Woman, the Old Woman. A young woman will act as a messenger regarding the ‘bond’ or fandom over a female Sweetheart figure by a not-entirely-rational crowd or mob who have latched on to her, in perhaps a rather addictive sort of way. She may like being adored, being everyone’s sweetheart, but there is a trap involved in this, according to the wisdom of a much older, experienced woman, who may be acting as an advisor. There appears to be a younger woman acting as a messenger from the older woman, perhaps from generation to generation. Possibly two sisters and an older female relative, passing messages between them? The mad crowd behaviour, ‘drunk’ with their bond to her, their fixation, is nothing but a trap, says the young woman who is delivering this message. She is committed to or has promised to act as a messenger here, to deliver what she knows, as the older woman focuses on the madness of the group behaviour, and the mob ‘drunk’ and unruly with it.
I’m still not sure if this was a “women in general” reading or a specific situation; the generational aspects made me wonder if it was more of a general thing about celebrity. Otherwise, I’d be guessing a royal intrigue or similar.
Wednesday: A Man, A Woman, Organisation or Party. Promotion For Him, While She Has To Wait
Today’s reading relates to both a man and a woman, probably in an organisation or political party, although perhaps a family. The man is involved with the organisation or party currently in what looks like a position of authority, or an official role. He will be having a meeting with an older or senior man and there is news or a message of position or rewards being bestowed on him, so this could be a promotion, and one he may have been waiting for. The woman in the picture, meanwhile, is moving away from him, and she is in despair. She’s been waiting, it seems, for change and for luck to be bestowed on her ambitions. So she and the man are going in separate directions. Where the man is meeting with others and gaining rewards he woman is left waiting for her luck to come in, for her moment in the sun.
Meanwhile, we’ll hear about the older or senior man in the party or organisation and despair from some over proposed changes, which nonetheless may eventually turn into the achievement of goals and dreams. It may be that a reorganisation is afoot. And there’s news of the woman’s meeting with the “house” bringing changes for her which, although she despairs over them, will prove to be lucky. These rewards have been long awaited or anticipated, it seems, but the man will take precedence for now. The woman does, however, have connection with the older, most senior man regarding her hopes, wishes and dreams.
There are some obvious Royals this could refer to (again, yawn) but my feeling was that this was more of a political party and ambitions thing. Not seeing anything obvious, however.
Thursday: Charm Offensive By A Woman, Game Played With A Wealthy Older Man, & She's Playing To Win
A woman is using her charm or skills of flirtation, to get what she wants. And this appears to be a game on her part, a play to score a victory, and gain love and adoration, perhaps popularity.
There’s an older, wealthy man involved and the game or flirtation is played to relieve the woman’s losses or loneliness. She has been dreaming or thinking independently , about how to score a Victory. There’s likely to be news of her complaints and a sense of dissatisfaction part of her game-plan to receive love. She may have had thoughts about the older wealthy man when single, and now it’s time for her to play for the win.
So overall, diagonally, there’s an older wealthy man and a flirtatious woman, news of this, and she is considering complaining or being difficult as part of her gameplan.
So who’s our flirt then? Again, still not sure, nothing is jumping out, but it could well be connected to the previous days’ story.
Friday: A Road Lit In All Directions, A Burden For Someone New, & Officials Working to Get Round Delay
Success in multiple directions, what looks like successful choices, for someone at least, although it brings a burden or test for someone new or younger. There are boundaries around anyone deceptive or false, however, although it may be possible for someone to sneak round them into government. And although the roads are all looking positive, it appears that the real test or burden of this success will be in government, even though, for those whose path is lit in all directions, it is finally happening after a long and slow delay.
My assumption here was that this was about the three by-elections here in the UK which were headline news. (Note the three paths on the Crossroads card). Opposition parties won in two, (one, trumpeted the press, returning one of the youngest MPs ever so there’s our Child) but the seemingly most likely, ousted Johnson’s former constituency, remaining just about in government hands, which was apparently a surprise to Labour (Cross? Mountain?) My reading suggests that although it may look to those reporting as though “the path is lit” for opposition parties (Crossroads, Sun), this comes weighed down with burdens or tests (Cross), and the Fox indicates deceit and gameplay across the board rather than much in the way of integrity from anyone. Certainly among people I know, I’m really not seeing much genuine enthusiasm with the state of politics atm (this goes beyond the UK also), or that anything truly new is happening, despite some attempts at excitable headlines. Perhaps we’re all just getting old, bored and cynical… or maybe that’s just me ;)
So that’s it for the week. As I say, I’ll be adding posts about the Lenormand cards in the next week or so to complete our overview of the ‘basics’ of all the 19th century decks I use here on the Daily Oracle.
And again, don’t forget that paid subscribers get access to ALL resources and articles about all the decks for the full duration of your subscription; detailed card meanings, how to reads, a chance to practice, layouts that AREN’T included in daily readings.
Anyway. Back on Mon.
