Tuesday: Lover Contemplates Losses, Fraudulent Promises, & Past Meetings With Those On The Take
Tuesday July 4th 2023
Happy 4th of July to my American friends!
Today’s reading is just a very quick one from the Austrian Piatnik Traditional Ziguener Fortune Telling deck. You can see more about this deck and how it compares to the Sibillas and Kipper here:
The cards drawn (7 plus the card appearing at the bottom of the deck as an overall ‘theme’) fell as follows:
The Cards
Thief, Visit, Enemy, Gift, Losses, Thought, Lover. The overturned “theme” card is Falseness.
The Reading
At the heart of the reading is a Gift of some kind, so something offered or given, although this may be in falsehood, or turn out to be to someone undeserving (Falseness).
The cards suggest a theft occurring on a Visit, a Thief passing through, and an Enemy associated with whatever has been given. The Loss incurred is later being contemplated (Thought) by a male Lover.
Pairing the cards, the tale could be of a Lover and a Thief, and him now thinking about a meeting or a particular visit. He now realises he has lost something valuable (Gift, Losses) at the hands of an Enemy, who stole it through false behaviour (Falseness) or false pretences. It could also be that he himself is the Thief, who has been offering or promising something when meeting with others that initially seemed valuable, but has in fact turned out to be fraudulent, fake, worthless. Now he has to take stock of what has been lost.
Today’s reading is about theft, losses, devaluing, and a Lover figure thinking about all that he has allowed himself to lose, and thinking about past meetings with enemy figures who intended to defraud and take what they could all along. There were offerings or promises of something, a “gift” seemingly of value that has now turned out to be fraudulent or worthless. Now he has to take stock of what has happened, and consider the value that has been lost.
