Tuesday: Discovery Of Loss & Aggression Or Violence Involving Older Person & A Deal With Supportive Officials Or Govt
Tuesday 24th January 2023
My reading this morning uses our old favourite Lenormand, and the Blue Owl deck, and a kind of ‘9-card Lite’ layout based on one I found a while back from a few years ago by card reader and blogger Seaqueen, which she called the Inquiry Layout. I’ve adapted slightly (I read the diagonals and verticals too), but it’s one I use quite regularly and it’s pretty handy, I find, for use with any deck, to get a rounded picture or story about a situation, with or without a “key card” as the first card.
I won’t really be covering Lenormand here at the Daily Oracle except for using the deck for the occasional reading, but don’t forget you can learn ALL about the Lenormand cards with extensive free resources, step by step guidance and articles, as well as books and online courses, over at my Lozzy’s Lenormand website.
Meanwhile, a big resource area for other decks like the Sibillas and Kipper, will be coming here on the Daily Oracle very soon for paid subscribers, so do keep an eye out for that!
The reading for today does, I’m afraid, suggest something rather dramatic happening newswise. It’s centred on the Mice and Book cards.
At the centre
Mice: Losses, Erosion, Worries, Theft, Worry, Diminishment
Book: Knowledge, Secrets, Learning, Discovery
At the core of this reading then, is a worrying situation of diminishment and loss, that it looks like will be discovered or learned about—or which has been hidden previously.
Top Row- More Detail
Scythe: Cuts, Slashes, Accident
Lilies: Maturation, Age & Experience, Older Person, Purity
Whip: Struggle, Conflict, Aggression, Arguments, Effort, Disruption
This could well be about violence or acts of aggression involving an older person, which we know has now, horrifically, happened twice in the last few days in California. The Scythe is most often metaphorical, signifying separations, cuts, reductions, but often signifies violence when paired with the Whip. Especially as the Lilies can represent both someone older and “the peace”; here, the peace disrupted by two violent cards around it.
Bottom Row- Eventual Outcome or Underlying Factors
Tower: Officialdom, Company, Government, Establishment, Longevity, Organisation, Hierarchy
Dog: Friend, Ally, Partner, Loyalty, Help
Ring: Deal, Agreement, Promise, Contract
This suggests some kind of agreement or deal (a bill?) from government or official agencies is involved or will ensue. An alliance, or support agency, perhaps with whom a deal is or has been struck.
Reading the cards diagonally, however we see that a discovery will be made of diminishment of some kind when a deal is slashed or an agreement or contract broken (Scythe—Mice/Book—Ring), and the ‘powers that be’ are likely to be rocked by the discovery (Whip—Mice/Book—Tower).
Vertically, it suggests the fall of an establishment, organisation or government, the “cutting down” of a Tower, more metaphorically, a reduction in status of someone or something of previous high standing (Scythe—Tower). Then an older person, long experience, or a long-held secret about losses and diminishment discovered about or by an old friend or ally (Lilies—Mice/Book—Dog). Finally, the Whip and Ring suggest a challenging or abusive relationship, a tough agreement or deal, an agreement that has to be pushed for or enforced.
A situation of loss, diminishment or theft is discovered, and may involve acts of aggression or violence from an older person or the peace disrupted suddenly, dramatically and violently. An agreement or deal with sympathetic or allied officials, but an establishment may fall or lose its standing if a deal is broken, with powers-that-be rocked by the discovery, and a challenging or tough agreement or deal needing to be pushed for or enforced.
