Thursday: Rachel's Tears & What's Going On With The UK Govt—Kipper Cards Take A Look
Thursday 3rd July 2025
Oh dear. Things seem to be going from bad to worse in UK Govt land (and no, I’m not saying that anyone waiting in the wings would be any better). A year from their landslide election and PM Starmer is deemed to be one of the least popular and most U-turny PMs ever, is suffering major rebellions from within his own ranks, and now there has been the uncomfortable spectacle of his equally unpopular Chancellor Rachel Reeves sitting behind him in Parliament during PMQs, clearly in tears. A fact which has been picked up with glee by most major news outlets.
Now, I’m sure many of us have cried at work, and it is said to be a “personal matter” (there are rumours of Rachel having some kind of run-in just before with Speaker Lindsay Hoyle) so the focus is perhaps a little unfair. But this is one of the most senior members of an unpopular government at a very difficult time, someone who is making sweeping cuts and won’t be doing accusations of unprofessionalism or the current crowd “not being up to the job” any good at all.
So what’s going on here?
Today, I’m using the German Salish Kipper cards and a 9-Card Box Spread with the teary-eyed Sad News card in the centre to take a look.
A reminder for subscribers of the cards’ meanings and also how you read a Kipper 9-Card Spread.
Here’s how the cards fell.
What do you think they’re saying?
Find out my interpretation below.
