This Week: Regrets Over A Deal Or Marriage, While Explosive Anger, Religious Fervour and Unhealthy Passions Ensue
Week commencing 17th June 2024
We’re starting off the week with Piatnik’s Traditional Zigeuner (“Gypsy” or Bohemian) Cards in a past-present-future spread called The Three Faces of Time, which is a useful tableau-style layout to give you a general overview of a time period or situation.
Take a look here to find out how to lay and read it:
The cards for this week fell as follows:
The Cards (from top)
Malady, Misfortune, Widower, Money, Hope; Lover, Thief, Marriage, Love, Ecclesiastic; Desire, House, Judge, Anger, Journey
The cards in this classic deck have very similar meanings to their equivalents in the Vera Sibilla so should be fairly obvious in terms of interpretation. Click here to take a look at a comparison between the two decks’ card meanings:
The Reading
The centre of this reading suggests that this week, we’ll be seeing a marriage, commitment or deal, or something connected with that (Marriage). The central column in the spread suggests a sense of mourning and looking back in grief too, possibly from an older male figure (Widower) and a judgement or ruling connected with that (Judge). It could also be someone looking back in regret at a political commitment or law that has been made or their role in that.
The bottom row, from right to left, indicating the recent past, suggests a progress towards anger with regard to judgements, politicians and laws (Journey, Anger, Judge) leading to a sense of yearning or Desire for something in particular in the House or family. Perhaps a desire for change, which may be remaining unfulfilled. Something is brewing here, the cards suggest.
The current situation involves spirituality or religion and love or passion, it seems, particularly with regard to a marriage or commitment (Ecclesiastical, Love, Marriage); either an actual marriage presided over by a priest, or a kind of passionate spiritual or religious commitment. Something is stolen here as a result, however, either from or by a particular male figure (Thief, Lover). A warning to watch out for what is being lost.
Ahead, the cards suggest the hope of money or a better financial or higher value picture (Hope, Money) , but that there will be grieving and regret, particularly from an older or senior male figure (Widower) as disaster and dysfunction ensues (Misfortune, Malady). Someone will come to regret the mistakes they have made, it seems, with regard to agreements or laws.
Reading the columns from right to left, we get the suggestion of spiritual or religious hopes moving forward (Hope, Ecclesiastical, Journey), while the love of money brings anger or angry outbursts (Money, Love, Anger) and regret over legal deals, laws or arrangements from senior figures (Widower, Marriage, Judge). Disaster ensues when something is lost or stolen domestically (Misfortune, Thief, House) and a male figure appears to have an unhealthy yearning for something unlikely to be fulfilled (Malady, Lover, Desire).
Finally, pairing the mirrored cards in this spread tells us that the malady or sickness is progressing, galloping along (Malady, Journey), ending in fury or disaster, something rather explosive and vengeful (Misfortune, Anger), while there’s regret and judgement for a senior lawmaker (Widower, Judge) connected with a wealthy house, institution (like a bank), family or even country (Money, House). There appear also to be burning wishes and desires, with hope perhaps thwarted, being unfulfilled or turning a little dark (Hope, Desire).
There’s something to do with spirituality or religion too, connected with a young man or men (Lover, Ecclesiastic) and a love and passion that’s associated with loss and taking something (Thief, Love) to do with a Marriage, deal or commitment.

Recently, there seems to have been progress towards anger with regard to legal judgements, politicians and laws, leading to a sense of yearning or a burning desire for something as yet unfulfilled in a house, domestic arena or family. Perhaps a desire for change, which may not be forthcoming. Something big is brewing here, the cards suggest.
