The Reading
At the core of the reading is the Mice, for worries, diminishment and losses. In the diamond around it, is conflict and struggle to achieve goals and dreams (Whip-Stars) even if they are well starred (Stars-Clover), and also strife bringing an ending to good fortune (Whip-Coffin, Coffin-Clover).
Either side of the Mice are the Stars and the Coffin, suggesting worries over a dream or goal ending, a dream that has already been undermined (Stars-Mice-Coffin). Above it, we see positivity darkened by conflict and strife (Sun-Whip-Clouds). Yet beneath, in the hidden or unconscious position, there is a suggestion that the time or opportunity for action is now, it has arrived (Time-Clover-Rider).
In the recent past, there seemed to be a time period where a goal or ambition was very well starred and certain to succeed (Sun-Stars-Time). Positive and happy times, where all seemed to be going well. Now, however, struggle, hardship and loss, perhaps austerity and the cost of living crisis, have diminished good fortune and opportunities, meaning it’ll be a struggle and effort to get the chance again (Whip-Mice-Clover). Ahead, sadly, is the arrival of a gloomy end, or perhaps the situation drawing to a close with more of a whimper rather than a bang (Clouds-Coffin-Rider).
Diagonally, the cards suggest there might be a certain positivity to the worries and doubts and losses that are occurring, so it could be that good will come out of them in the end, there could be glimpses of sunlight, or concerns prove well founded (Sun-Mice-Rider). In the other direction, the outlook is gloomier, suggesting it is a time of general negativity, uncertainty and doubt. (Clouds-Mice-Time).
On the plus side, knighting the cards suggests that the ending is a positive one (Sun-Coffin) and brings opportunity in a way (Clover), but there is a time of struggle and hardship upon us (Whip, Time-Rider), which will cast gloom over ambitions and big picture plans as well as opportunities (Clouds, Stars, Clover), and just that it’s a time where old plans are likely to be overshadowed for the time being (Stars, Clouds-Rider). Again, though, there does seem to be something positive about whatever’s drawing to a close, with the ending being a relatively positive time (Coffin, Sun-Time), although not without its conflicts and struggles (Time, Whip, Coffin). Opportunities and big successes are muted (Clover, Sun-Clouds), and it looks as though the time has come to really fight for what we want. (Rider, Whip-Stars).
No, I’m really not sure what this might refer to either. It has the sense of a rather difficult and worrying transformation and the ending of an old dream, but one that probably is for the best.
A time of losses and diminishment, and a struggle to hold on to old plans, goals, and ambitions, which have been overshadowed by strife. An ending of a chance is on the cards that may bring gloom to some. At the same time, this looks like a necessary ending in the grand scheme of things. Perhaps once any murkiness has cleared, there’ll be better things to be had, but we probably won’t be feeling it just yet, even though it’s there under the surface.
