So now, in terms of reading Grand Tableaus, we’ve looked at the “spinning a jocular tale” suggested in the original Game of Hope instructions from 1799.
We’ve also looked at the Near and Far method suggested by the so-called “Philippe Lenormand” instructions that came out with the decks when they were rebranded as Lenormand in the 1840s. Here’s the same Grand Tableau layout with the exact same cards in the same positions, but using a different deck: this time, the Blue Owl deck, which has a 19th century design.
