So today I just want to go into a little more detail of what the 2023 Kipper reading is saying to expect about the court case or legal matter which comes up so clearly as a feature of 2023. Is it a very public divorce, or is it a wider legal issue? Or a divorce or legal situation which has wider ramifications?

Legal Matters
The Court House card is sitting here in the House of Marriage. So it could well be a specific divorce case, which some of the other Male and Female cards imply, but equally, it could be around coming to an agreement about any legislation or legal process. Around it is the False Person sitting in the House of Main Female so this is a legal process that involves a woman who is not who she appears to be, or one who is hidden, and High Honours in the House of Courtship/Meeting, so somebody who’s elevated to high position by others or with the help of others, or a group of “higher” legislators.
The “false woman” appears to have had enormous luck and advantage, particularly with regard to lots of money, although again, it could be that this luck and good fortune is not as good as it appears to be (False Person-Great Fortune), so if an individual, it could be someone who’s pretending to be wealthier than they are. The legal process appears to be underpinned by good fortune through meeting with or “courting” people, the public (Great Fortune, Courtship/Meeting, Community) but it’s interesting that all three of these cards fall into “wealth and privilege”related Houses; Great Fortune in Sudden Wealth, Courtship/Meeting in Privileged Lady/Rich Girl, and Community in Wealthy Man/Rich Young Man. So it’s likely that the “community”, circles or court of public opinion involved will be of the wealthier, more privileged kind. (Just a note, that the Fin de Siecle deck, which is based on Victorian England, partly has the additional cards it does because as Ciro Marchetti has said, he specifically wanted to highlight some of the societal class divisions of the cards’ era in the deck.)
The legal process or case involved impacts the “convening” or meeting of more privileged young women or a woman and her supporters (Court House-Courtship/Meeting in House of Privileged Lady), and respect and honours in the eyes of the public, particularly the wealthier kind and likely the business community (High Honours in House of Courtship/Meeting, Community in House of Wealthy Man).
Looking at the diagonals of where the Court House card is sitting, we see that someone will gain financial advantage from it, so possibly a little money or a payout is involved when it ends (Court House, Great Fortune, Unexpected Income/A Little Money in House of Coffin). In the other direction, as with the Privileged Lady/Rich Girl we saw yesterday, we have the legal process and a Community or the public (so again, possibly the court of wealthier public opinion), the Privileged Lady/Rich Girl in the House of Courthouse, and negative thoughts or concern about Theft or something being taken.
The legal process or case involved appears to impact the “meeting” or Courtship of the Privileged Lady/Rich Girl the most, and influences the Marriage (or agreements) in the personal sphere (Marriage in House of Family Room) of the Main Female, so a woman or women, about whom there is a judgement or decision ruled (Woman in House of Judication).
Finally, reading the cards around the legal process in the row in which the Court House appears, we can see that surrounding it seems to be the ending of a man’s love relationship and a big change there (Lovers/Success in Love—Coffin), a Gift given to a False Woman, and news about the Toil & Labour in the legal process (Court House), so a tremendous effort and struggle involved. There is Change (in the House of Mature Woman) of High Honours and rewards in the personal sphere of an older man (Family Room in House of Mature Man). A man asserting his authority at home, perhaps?
From left to right, we see a story concerning the love life and relationships of the Main Male (Love/Success in Love in House of Main Male), our False Woman figure (False Person in House of Main Female), and the legal process (Court House) that relates to a marriage or agreement (House of Marriage), so possibly a divorce case. There are High Honours and rewards at stake, perhaps being discussed in a meeting (House of Courtship), and it relates to the personal or family life of an older gentleman (Family Room in House of Mature Male). Change results, especially for an older woman (Change in House of Mature Woman), and there’s news about hardship or struggle (Toil & Labour in House of Message/Letter). A Gift is given to a false person or to falsehood (Gift in House of False Person), and either progress or a Change comes to an end, or a change brings an ending (Coffin in House of Change).
Finally, looking at the mirroring and knighting cards around the Court House, we can see that this mainly impacts a woman or women in terms of its judgement (Main Female in House of Judication), news on labour, effort and hardship (Toil & Labour in House of Message) and bad news or Concern/Murky Thoughts in the House of Occupation, so day to day activities or work.
The knighting cards suggest the Court House aka legal process brings Despair on a journey (Despair in House of Journey), structural or domestic worries in a particular House (Message of Concern/Sad News in House of House) and an official legal judgement being made or law being passed relating to that (Judgement in House of Official Person). It also mainly impacts an older woman who has been giving or expressing a message of concern (Mature Woman in House of Message of Concern/Sad News).
A legal process which could relate to a specific divorce case or ruling on a marriage, or be about legislation more generally. It involves a “false” woman who is not quite as she appears to be, and someone who’s elevated to high position by others or with the help of others, or a group of “higher” legislators. The false person or falsehoods concerned appears to have had luck on their side, particularly financially, and particularly through the “courtship” of more privileged and wealthy members of society or the circles of the people involved. It is a privileged young woman’s “people” who gain respect and honour in the eyes of the wealthier public or business community. Someone stands to gain a little money from this court case or legal process, despite negative thoughts and concerns about theft or something being stolen or lost. The privileged young woman is impacted the most by the eventual ruling, which involves a judgement or decision regarding marriage, family and private life or the privacy of a particular woman or women. A man’s love relationship ends, and an older man may gain privately or reassert their authority in the home. The story is of a man’s relationship with a falsehood, a legal process regarding standing and high honours relating to his family and private life, bringing change, a struggle or hardship and the gift of an ending in some way. It looks as though this is mainly a change affecting a woman or women negatively, bringing despair, particularly to an older woman or women who has or have been warning of this.
