Friday: Rishi v Keir, UK Election, & Two 5-Card Spreads With Interesting Results
Friday 14th June 2024
Sorry, it appears some subscribers weren’t sent today’s post, so am republishing.
Since we’re in the midst of the elections campaigns/grinning photoshoots/gaffes phase here (although I suppose it’s less tumultuous than the rest of Europe right now and Macron and HIS surprise election call gamble) I thought for today, I’d do a quick pair of comparative readings to see how the two main party leaders here in the UK are faring and what’s coming up immediately ahead for them.
To do this I’m using another of the most basic classic spreads: the Line of 5, and the Vera Sibilla deck.
You can find a simple way of reading this spread detailed here. In this post it’s used for personal advice, but it’s a good general reading that can be used for ANY question.
Here, I’m doing one for each person just to compare. The question was “What’s Going On With Keir/Rishi right now and what’s coming up for them both?” Here are the two lines of five I pulled for both Labour leader Keir Starmer and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. Keir is at the top, Rishi at the bottom.
Don’t forget , by the way, that subscribers can find ALL details for the Vera Sibilla deck, including card meanings, on the Daily Oracle website for you to look up! Just check the Vera Sibilla section via the menu at the top or the Resource Index section.
The Cards
Keir: Thought, Service, Despair, Wife, Child
Rishi: Hope, Misfortune, Joyfulness, Frivolity, Widower
So, hmm, so slightly unexpected energies for both here.
What messages are each of them giving about things right now and what are they predicting? Let’s find out!
The Readings
Looking at Keir’s row, we see that overall, the cards suggest a situation of thinking and planning, consideration, but a surprising amount of despair and desperation involving a child or young people (Thought, Despair, Child). So overall, his line of five is telling us that around him, there are thoughts of despair or desperation involving a child.
Interestingly, the ‘extra detail’ cards here then show the Service card, so the sense of duty… and a Wife and mother. His wife, perhaps? (not the first time this has come up for him). His duty to a wife and mother, or his wife’s sense of duty and what’s most important? Odd. So put together, this would be “Thoughts of despair or desperation involving a child and his sense of duty towards his wife and children (or a mother) or his own wife’s sense of priorities.
Hmm.
Reading the cards across from the left, we get his thoughts and consideration around duty and service (Thought, Service) bringing desperation and Despair connected to his wife and children (Wife, Child). And if we pair ‘mirrored’ cards starting with the outer pair, we get the thoughts of a child (Thought, Child) around the sense of duty or Service of a Wife and that sense of utter despair.
It sounds like there are private family issues going on for him involving everyone’s feelings about the prospect of his winning and the wife and kids possibly being thrust into the public eye to me. He does have two teenage children. Perhaps there is trouble behind the scenes there and some conflict about whom their mother “should” be supporting; either how she feels or how they do. It suggests that’s something going on with the family behind the scenes that could be likely to affect things or put a spanner in the works for him, although maybe not immediately.
Now let’s take a look at Rishi’s. A very different vibe, even though he is forecast to lose the election and to lose badly. He even had one of his aides embarrassingly put a bet on a massive Labour win this week.
Overall here, though, we can see that he is feeling positive and “hopeful of celebration”, a party atmosphere, but he will later come to regret it, it seems to me (Hope, Joyfulness, Widower). There’s an absolute disaster in the picture where everything collapses and burns to the ground, essentially (Misfortune), but he is taking the whole disaster lightly, jokily, even (Frivolity). It seems to me that he is wearing the imminent collapse of the Tory government and vote very lightly, even feeling quite positive about it. It has a kind of “shrug” energy, one of him feeling he’s cutting his losses.
Reading his cards from the left, we even see he’s hoping for a complete disaster, that it all gets razed to the ground (Hope, Misfortune) and celebration and partying will ensue (Joyfulness). Relief and lightness then follows (Frivolity), but eventually, it seems, this will give way to regret when he looks back on it all (Widower).
He just wants out now, as far as I can see. But in the long run, will come to regret it.
Today’s reading, comparing energies for Keir Starmer, who is looking likely to win the election, with current incumbent Rishi Sunak, who is set to lose and lose badly, shows some interesting and perhaps unexpected influences. There is despair showing for Keir and joy and a party atmosphere showing for Rishi. According to Keir’s cards, around him is a situation of thinking and planning, consideration, but a surprising amount of despair and desperation involving a child or young people. This could well be related to his family life (he’s as far as we know happily married and has two teenage kids) and what is going on with the family’s feelings behind closed doors at home. The ‘extra detail’ cards here show in particular a sense of duty involving a wife and mother. His wife, perhaps? (not the first time this has come up for him). His duty to his wife and mother, or his wife’s sense of duty and what’s most important to her? So put together, his cards read “Thoughts of despair or desperation involving a child and his sense of duty towards his wife and children (or a mother) or his own wife’s sense of priorities.”
It could also relate to his children’s feelings: the thoughts of a child around the sense of duty of their mother along with a sense of utter despair. Uh-oh.
So it sounds like there are private family issues going on for him involving everyone’s feelings about the prospect of his winning and the wife and kids possibly being thrust into the public eye to me. Perhaps there is trouble behind the scenes there and some conflict about whom their mother “should” be supporting; either how she feels or how they do. A spanner in the works, potentially, for him in the long run.
Meanwhile, a very different vibe for Rishi, even though he is forecast to lose the election and to lose extremely badly.
Yet his cards suggest he e is feeling positive and “hopeful of celebration”, with a party atmosphere, but he will later come to regret it,. There’s an absolute disaster in the picture where everything collapses and burns to the ground, but he is taking the whole disaster lightly, jokily, even. It seems to me that he is wearing the imminent collapse of the Tory government and vote very lightly, even feeling quite positive about it. It has a kind of “shrug” energy, one of him feeling he’s cutting his losses and cutting free.
The cards even suggest he’s actively hoping for a complete disaster, that it all gets razed to the ground and celebration and partying will ensue. Relief and lightness then follows but eventually, it seems, this will give way to regret when he looks back on it all. So Rishi just wants out now, as far as I can see. But in the long run, will come to regret it.
Let’s see how this pans out.
