Today’s reading is with the Austrian Traditional Zigeuner Wahsarge-Karten by Piatnik.
You can see my comparison between it and the Sibilla decks from which it’s derived here:
The cards I drew for today fell as follows, with the Widower (again) falling in the centre naturally.
The Cards
Widower, Enemy, Officer, Love, Journey, Losses, Thought, Gift, Lover
The Reading
At the centre, once again, we have a man grieving a loss (Widower), and he is focusing on official positions and those in authority, perhaps a military role. He has recently made a journey or trip (Journey), but ahead will be facing more losses (Loss) of something material or valuable to him. Driving him from beneath are the Gifts and benefits of his position.
He has, however, made enemies in an official capacity on his travels (Enemy, Officer, Journey) or he is thinking of his official enemies from whom he may have previously escaped. And he thinks about the journey he made (Journey, Thought) and considers it a Gift. Now, however, those in authority with regard to his love life will bring losses in that area (Officer, Love, Loss),losses that he will continue to mourn. Ahead, he will lose the Gift of being considered the Lover.
He considers the “powers that be” to be shadowy figures, the enemy of his love and his life (Enemy, Officer, Love). He is mourning the imminent loss of his travels, of what he sees as his recent break for it (Journey, Widower, Loss). Beneath he thinks of the gifts and treasure he gained from being in the role as the Lover.
Behind him are those shadowy figures overseeing a journey, and his contemplations about that and them (Enemy, Journey, Thought). Now he mourns the loss of treasures due, in his mind, to the power of official forces (Officer, Widower, Gift). Ahead he sees the loss of his love life and the role of lover (Love, Loss, Lover).
Diagonally, we have the Enemy and the grieving of the Lover, as well as the Widower’s Thoughts about his romantic life (Love).
What he’s likely to resent is what he sees as the taking away of his treasure by ‘dark forces’ (Enemy, Loss, Gift). For him, the Journey was one of love and passion (Love, Lover), and his main thoughts will be of the losses caused by the “officials”, the ‘men in suits’ (Thought, Officer, Loss). He perceives his love as an escape and a gift (Love, Journey, Gift), but definitely puts its failure down to dark forces (Loss, Enemy, Thought).
A man grieving for a loss, focusing on official positions and those in authority and official positions. He’s recently made a trip and perhaps some progress but ahead will be facing the loss of something valuable to him. Driving him are the treasures and benefits of his position. But he has made enemies in an official capacity on his travels, and may be thinking of them in terms of being people from whom he’s previously escaped. When he thinks of the journey he made, he considers it a gift. But now, the men in suits will bring losses to his love life and passions, losses he’ll continue to mourn, and will lose the gift of being considered eligible. To him, the powers that be are shadowy figures, intent on destroying his love and his life. He mourns the loss of his recent escape, and the ‘treasures’ he feels they’re responsible for him losing. It looks as though he will continue to blame “them” for the taking away of his prize.
