Friday: Court Cases, Cynicism & Negativity Over Any Financial Gains For Young Woman Or Women
Friday 19th May 2023
For the final reading this week, we’ve got a 9-card with the Fin de Siecle Kipper.
As you’ll know, I’m in the process of loading resources for Kipper cards at the moment. The rest of the card meanings pages will be uploaded over the next few days, and then we’ll be starting on reading methods and layouts for this deck. You can check out what we’ve got so far for the Kipper here:
The cards for today’s current affairs reading fell as follows, and they centre on court cases and legal proceedings, via the Court House card.
The Cards
As the Fin de Siecle deck uses quite different titles for many of the cards from the originals, I’ve put the originals that are in this layout in brackets below. Nonetheless, most of the cards should still be fairly self-explanatory.
Court House (Court)
Concern (Murky Thoughts)
Thief
Judication (Court Person)
Occupation (Work)
Distant Horizons (Hope, Big Water)
Pathway (Long Road)
Unexpected Income (Some Money)
Privileged Lady (Rich Girl)
The Reading
Legal matters are at the heart of today’s reading, as well as ongoing court cases (Court House), so this could refer to one case in particular, or a general atmosphere around many court cases that are going on and in the news currently.
Judgements and decisions may have brought negativity (Concern, Judication) and it appears to have been a long road for one young woman in particular (Pathway, Privileged Lady). Meanwhile, there could have been a loss of work involved here, or “a professional thief” is making money through legal action (Thief, Occupation), with the goal of getting payouts (Distant Horizons, Unexpected Money).
The centre row tells us that legal proceedings are the goal that someone is working to, that they’re making it their job to do (Occupation, Court House, Distant Horizons). This could refer to someone with ambitions to become a lawyer themselves or, as above, someone whose entire focus is to make money from taking legal action.
It appears from the row above that there is a negative reaction here, however, that judgements and decisions made are perhaps seen as not being above board and are being ‘stolen’ (Concern, Thief, Judication). Meanwhile, what we see underpinning this is the culmination of what looks like a long term plan to gain money by a particular young woman (Pathway, Unexpected Income, Privileged Lady).
Leading up to this is negativity or perhaps cynicism over what work they do day to day and what it’s been building up to over time (Concern, Occupation, Pathway), and that now “they”, whoever they are, are stealing money through legal action (Thief, Court House, Unexpected Income). Ahead, there is a judgement or legal decision reached regarding the long term ambitions or goals of this young woman (Judication, Distant Horizons, Privileged Lady).
Diagonally, in particular, we see that there is a great deal of cynicism over her and the proceedings involved (Concern, Court House, Privileged Lady), and that the final judgement will have taken a very long time to reach (Judication, Court House, Pathway).
The cynicism will be specifically over it being her goal to make money (Concern, Distant Horizons, Unexpected Income), her making it her business to get the judgement she wants, although it should be said that there will be people making it their business too to be cynical and slag her off; professional naysayers, in a way, perhaps the perennial misogynist types who’ll make negative judgements of women at every turn (Occupation, Judication-Privileged Lady). This may be connected with a very long term goal to take something away, perhaps to remove legal gains (Pathway, Thief, Distant Horizons), and that what is being lost has taken the young woman a long time to gain (Thief, Pathway-Privileged Lady).
Any financial gain will be judged negatively by the naysayers (Unexpected Income, Concern-Judication), and the judgement will be that the whole purpose was just to gain money (Judication, Occupation, Unexpected Income), that the ultimate aim was to take this path. There may be cynicism expressed over why it’s taken so long, the old “Why has she waited X years to take action?” argument (Distant Horizons, Concern, Pathway), and the young woman concerned will be viewed as a professional thief (Privileged Lady, Thief, Occupation).
Hmm.
Cynicism and negative judgements over legal matters surrounding a young woman or women, considered to be a professional thief making money out of legal action with the ultimate goal of spuriously getting money from payouts. Although there may be an element of truth to this, there are also those who are professional naysayers, critical of any judgement made in favour of the young woman or women, where what is being lost has taken her a long time to gain. Any money awarded will be met with cynicism and the argument that financial gain was the plan all along, with particular negativity over the time taken to bring action, and her viewed by such naysayers as a professional thief.
