Drunkenness Or Delirium Of Enemies, A Journey Of Bonding With Falseness
Wednesday 9th November '22
Today, a rather powerful, if dark, reading with the Vera Sibilla. I am not sure if it relates to a specific situation or just “how things are” in general at the moment, but there is certainly a strong atmosphere with it. Fake news, false narratives? People going mad?
(Letterato) Man of Letters: An academic, philosopher, intellectual, writer
(L’Amante) Lover: Male lover
(Viaggio) Journey: Travelling, a journey
(La Nemica) Female Enemy: A female enemy
(I Deliranti) Pleasure-Seekers/Delirious - Drunkenness, Delirium, Frenzy, Overdoing
(Il Nemico) Male Enemy: Male enemy
(Falsita) Falseness : Falsehoods, Untruth, Lies
(Morte) Death, Coffin: Ending, Death, Loss
(Imeneo) Wedding: Marriage, Bond
At the centre, we have Pleasure Seekers, which always, with its element of drunkenness, suggests people out of control, going too far in some way. Around them are Male and Female Enemies, so it sounds like whoever this refers to (and it’s clearly not just one person, but perhaps groups of people) kind of losing their reason, going overboard, people behaving in crazy ways, with some kind of tribalism involved.
Above them are, if it’s not a particular individual, a male lover on a trip, it could relate to the more intellectual and caring pursuits of those who perhaps consider themselves more progressive and ‘above’; academics, writers, thinkers, but there’s a sense of a journey or progress here in some way (Man of Letters, Lover, Journey).
Underlying the madness is some kind of marriage or bond with falseness, with untruths around an ending or demise (Falseness, Death, Wedding). Conspiracy theorists or something, maybe?
In the left hand column, so recent past, we have a person of letters possibly writing or opining something false about a female enemy - or an academic or intellectual female enemy uttering falsehoods (Man of Letters, Female Enemy, Falsehood).
In the centre, so present time, we have a lover (or someone we like) lost or finished in some way due to madness or drunkenness (Lover, Pleasure-Seekers, Death), and right ahead, a journey, trip or move towards a deal or bond with an enemy, perhaps (Journey, Male Enemy, Wedding).
Diagonally, the Man of Letters makes a kind of deranged or “drunken” agreement through the Pleasure Seekers and Wedding (a Faustian pact kind of thing?), and then there is a journey or movement through derangement or craziness into falsehood (Journey, Pleasure-Seekers, Falsehood).
Knighting the cards, we get the Man of Letters, so intellectuals, writers etc, bonding with a Male Enemy and and Ending (Death), and the Female Enemy progressing towards a bond or agreement (Wedding). The Falsehood appears to be connected with the Lover, so someone pretending to support or care about something or saying things he doesn’t mean, and the Male Enemy. But the Lover is in fact bonded to falsehoods (Falsehood, Wedding), and an ending comes to the progress of the Man of Letters (Death, Man of Letters, Journey). The progress of a female enemy comes to an end also (Journey, Female Enemy, Death). The Male Enemy connects to the Man of Letters’ falsehoods (Male Enemy, Man of Letters, Falsehood), and there’s some kind of bond or marriage (Wedding) between the Lover and the Female Enemy.
Oof. I just really get a strange vibe from this one. It’s a bit soap opera-like, but I think the central sense of delirium and things, or people, going nuts, the enemies, and the bonding with falsehoods, makes me think that whatever this situation refers to, those involved are in for a bumpy ride, and there could be some odd alliances and some real craziness about. Is it the US Mid-Terms or something else?
Madness, crazy behaviour and enemies, and bonding to falsehoods despite the love. Writers, academics, thinkers, the stopping of a journey, but falsehoods and false bonds abound.
Agree - the shenanigans of the US Mid Terms. Always falsehoods around politicians!
