A Vera Sibilla Crescent Spread
A Classic Positional Spread With 7 Cards
Let’s get back to basics and simple readings you can do with the Vera Sibilla and Gypsy Oracle Cards.
The very simplest layouts of all are what are called “positional” spreads; where you have a single card appearing in position to signify what that position is said to be. For example, when you have a position for “The Past”, “Advice”, “What Helps You” “Obstacles” and so on.
Now, I have to say that personally, I tend to find positional layouts a little too restrictive and not really my natural way of reading oracle cards (it’s why you’ll more often see me using more than one card in each position in these types of layout, as it tells more of a story, which is my preferred way of reading). Nonetheless, positional spreads like the one I’m going to show you here, the Crescent are an excellent way of getting to grips with individual card meanings, both upright and reversed, and applying them to contexts and situations. If you’re a Tarot reader, you’ll likely find the areas represented by the positions familiar.
